I noticed, on a wall in Crows Nest recently, some writing that truly brings home the success of any SugarCRM system.

After working with SugarCRM for some time, and thinking about SugarCRM success stories, the difference between these and those deployments that don't quite take hold becomes obvious. The people.
I often tell clients that "the system is only as good as the data within it". But this should be abstracted to a higher level to cover the people that actually enter the data. Why? Data comes from various sources. And, even if a system has data being directly imported and synchronised from other reliable sources, if people don't actually log in to the system to make useful decision based on this information, and, in turn add to the information, then the system is no better then a whiteboard that hasn't been used for so long the marker does not rub off.
